HR Advisor - John Clark Motor Group Head Office

Due to development and growth John Clark Motor Group has a vacancy for an experienced HR Advisor to join their busy HR/Payroll team based at the Holding company in Aberdeen.

We are looking for a motivated HR Advisor to take responsibility for their own caseloads, working to support the managers within the group. The role will also involve acting as the first point of contact for Line Managers with regards to all employee-related matters, such as any challenges or concerns.

This role will provide a diplomatic, collaborative and discreet individual with ample scope to make their mark and impress at a growing brand that’s fully committed to staff satisfaction and career development. You will have worked in a very fast paced team where your continued drive and initiative are put to great use.

We require a flexible individual who can manage their time efficiently whilst covering a number of key areas:

  • Dealing with various HR queries throughout the business
  • Monitoring, reviewing and updating all HR policies and ensuring these are in line with the current legislation
  • Managing staff relationships, responding to any queries or problems that they have and managing their expectations 
  • Handling HR matters reliably and in accordance with legal requirements
  • Supporting the groups line managers with various capability investigations, including grievance and disciplinary
  • Assisting with and developing on any recruitment campaigns
  • Driving the business performance in relation to the organisation’s objectives
  • Supporting line managers to review employee relations, performance management, resourcing and employee engagement
  • Informing employees of their rights and entitlements and keeping them up to date on any changes that are made

HR advisors will be expected to be proficient in the following:

  • Organisational and administrative skills 
  • Experience in an HR environment 
  • Advising and working with senior management
  • Personable with strong communication and relationship building capabilities across all levels of the business
  • Driven and determined
  • CIPD qualified 
  • Practical and logical; able to solve problems quickly 
  • Self-confidence and being persuasive are important soft skills to have

Desired skills and experience:

  • Confidence to coach line managers through policies and procedures
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law
  • Strong organisation and communication - both written and verbal
  • Ability to multi-task and understand different departments needs and demands
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience using Excel
  • Enjoy working in a team environment
